Pecan Pie Bars Recipe
🛒 Ingredients
For the crust:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1/4 teaspoon salt
For the pecan filling:
3 large eggs
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups pecan halves (or chopped pecans)
👩🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the crust
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
Add the softened butter and blend until crumbly.
Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
Bake for 15–18 minutes, until lightly golden.
2. Make the pecan filling
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, vanilla, melted butter, and salt.
Stir in pecans.
3. Assemble & bake
Pour the pecan filling evenly over the warm crust.
Return to the oven and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly jiggly in the center.
Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
🍴 Tips
For extra flavor, lightly toast the pecans for 5 minutes before mixing.
Chill in the fridge for 1 hour before slicing for cleaner cuts.
Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
