The Guild provides study & certification programs on the wines and wine regions of France, Italy and Spain. Originally created as the French Wine Society, the organization quickly became the leading provider of French wine study and certification programs internationally. In order to accommodate wine industry requests for equally detailed study programs on Italy and Spain, the French Wine Society reorganized as the Wine Scholar Guild.

Claret or port wasn't just a drink order in 18th century England, it was a declaration. 🍷

Big update for Bourgogne wine enthusiasts. Mâcon AOC's cahier des charges was just revised and Chardonnay is no longer the whole story for Mâcon blanc!

Aligoté, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris are now permitted as accessory varieties, alongside a few other changes...

If "Mâcon is 100% Chardonnay" is in your notes, consider this your cue to update them.

Pinot Noir might be the most influential grape in France. Not because of its wine. Because of its offspring.

Mutate Pinot Noir: Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Meunier. Same DNA, different skin.
Cross it with a nearly-forgotten grape called Gouais Blanc: Chardonnay, Gamay, Aligoté, Melon de Bourgogne.
Half of Burgundy's lineup traces back to one vine.
