Last week we said farewell to our beloved van, the Grey Ghost, as it headed to its new home at Page One of Page County!

When we realized the Pantry needed a vehicle with different capacity, donating our refrigerated van to one of our community partners was an easy decision. This is the first refrigerated van in Page One's fleet, making it easier to transport fresh, perishable food safely and efficiently as they serve their community.

We're grateful to be part of a network of organizations that support one another and work together to fight food insecurity. Knowing this van will continue serving neighbors for years to come makes it an especially meaningful transition.

Thank you, Page One! We're excited to see the impact this vehicle will have in your community.

Right now, the Rappahannock Food Pantry is facing a major shift: donations of food from grocery stores, farms, and individuals have dropped by more than 50%, while pantry usage has steadily increased. To keep shelves stocked, we are increasingly relying on purchased food, dramatically raising our operating costs.

Our $25,000 Give Local Piedmont goal will cover nearly half of our annual food purchases from the local food bank, helping ensure families, seniors, and children in our community continue to have reliable access to healthy food. Every dollar given stays local and directly helps feed neighbors here in Rappahannock County. Supporting the Pantry today means making sure no one in our community is left behind tomorrow.

To reduce poverty and assist low-income individuals by: providing a range of food and other services to low-income families and individuals; by creating educational and other opportunities; and by educating the public on issues of poverty.

This 💛Giving Tuesday🧡, we’re reflecting on what your kindness helped make possible this Thanksgiving, and looking ahead to what we hope to accomplish together in the coming months.
Because of generous neighbors, volunteers, and donors, last week Rappahannock Food Pantry was able to distribute 256 Thanksgiving dinners to local families, representing over 600 individuals in our community. And in 3 weeks we will do it all again, distributing approximately 250 Christmas dinners🎄🎄.
