Bacon Jam is NOW OPEN! We stopped in today and loved everything from the beignets and bacon avocado omelet to the Bacon Trio and Big McDonald burger with their homemade sauce. Even their fresh-brewed iced tea was next level.

And Bacon Jam was jamming while we were there! The customers kept rolling through the door, and they were keeping up with the pace. Looks like this place is going to be Washington’s new jam! Check ‘em out!

Over a year later… we finally got to see if we made the cut for Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares episode featuring Cafe Notte . And we did! Such a fun experience and totally enjoyed sharing the experience with Lynn Richey Ellen Kotzin and Mark Kotzin You can still catch the episode on Hulu. 😊

Over a year ago, June 2025, I was invited to be part of the filming for Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares. My husband Lynn and friends Mark and Ellen (You might know her as Pittsburghhills) came with me. We had no idea what to expect. We had to park in a specified lot, were shuttled to a holding place, filled out forms, then shuttled to the restaurant. We were given instructions to act like regular customers and point out anything that wasn’t up to par. Our phone cameras were covered with tape and we were told NO pictures and if we happened to see Gordon, don’t even look at him! We ordered dinner, had our appetizers and entrees, and then just before dessert we were told filming was over and there would be no dessert. Last night the episode finally aired, and we got to see if we made the cut. We actually did in the second 15 minute segment. There are a few quick glimpses of us in the background. It was nerve wracking waiting to see if we would be in the episode and if so, would we be embarrassed about our reactions and what we said… Turned out, it was pretty exciting to see ourselves on Kitchen Nightmares! It was such a cool experience and Mark and Ellen were the best dates! The episode can still watched on Hulu and make sure to watch to the end to see one of Pittsburgh’s favorite foodies Ana Eats Pgh!

I have to add…after watching, I felt kinda bad for Jerry. He really took a beating. Jerry, I have to say, no matter what, you def had the BEST hair! Ha! Cafe Notte

Over 92 years of taking care of business and Shorty’s Lunch is still sizzling! Owner Steve Alexis gave me the thumbs-up for a photo… although he said he’d rather give me another finger because he hates having his picture taken! 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for being a good sport Steve! My “go to” is a hot dog with everything—mustard, onion, and their famous four-hour-cooked chili sauce. Shorty’s Lunch is one of the oldest hot dog spots in the country—and we Washington locals love it!

I’ve dined at Toscana Brickoven in Southpointe many times and have great memories sharing special occasions with friends. Yesterday, I experienced the restaurant from a whole new perspective. I knew the food was delicious. I can’t go there without ordering salmon; they do it right every time. I also had the opportunity to try the Bolognese and it was fabulous. Additionally, I tried their new Carne pizza with pepperoni, sausage, fresh mozzarella, bourbon hot honey—so, so good! I did not expect the food to be anything but outstanding; here is where I learned something new…

This was an invite and Kevin, who manages the restaurant, asked if I wanted to see the addition to the restaurant called The Galley. There is only one answer…😉 I was totally wowed! People are always asking, “Where can we find a dining space for a special occasion?” Well… here ya go! The Galley seats 60. It has a beautiful kitchen and plenty of space to mingle. There is a sofa in the far corner and a charging station for phones. It is a BEAUTIFUL space! The tables can be arranged differently than what is shown in my photos. Kevin also let me tour the kitchen and I truly appreciated him sharing Toscana through his eyes. A special thanks to Kevin, my server Trista and other staff members who really made my evening special.

Whether you want to dine in their lovely dining room or al fresco on the patio or need a space for a group (there is also a space in the front for about 30 people), Toscana can deliver! This was a gifted experience from Visit Washington County PA organized by Relay | UGC Creators 💜

Sam’s Pizza Shop has been a true Canonsburg tradition for more than 50 years. They serve up old school, square cut Sicilian-style pizza. Their homemade dough and sauce are made fresh daily, and you can add your choice of toppings. Their pepperoni rolls are a must try. And remember, it is cash only.
