Found a pic a guest posted of the toasted agege with the honey beans and lamb. We are having a dinner on the 20th. It’s where we call home we’re going to have dinner in an intimate group. Look at the cows, walk around there are two new peacocks, breathe in the fresh air and have dessert and roast marshmallows under the stars. Hernando is 40 mins from Memphis and really 40 mins not far from south Haven or the areas around. It’s far enough for you to come so can continue this journey coming together every month when it’s warm enough to be outside and eat amazing food and just be at peace before the week begins. Can’t wait to see yall. Go to our website and buy tickets. We have a few left ✌🏾 come join our tribe

We want to thank you all so much for purchasing tickets to this event, we have a few left and hope to see yall. Picked up some beautiful garlic onions from yesterday and can’t wait to pick up micros from one of our favs. I usually say when I start shopping it’s time to close ticket sales. We have people that have become friends who will be there and we can’t wait to see meet new friends. Like I said it’s a bigger crowd than we usually have so wifey, chef and I will be at the back so hopefully yall get to have the very best of conversations. Send us messages on here and tell us what in a dish reminded you of home. We will also be having a more intimate dinner where we get to talk and introduce each dish. It’s on the 20th and it’ll be a great gift to buy for someone. Enjoy the event if you’re not coming for this one and and and and all the staff and everyone have and are still doing such an incredible job organizing this event. Clarksdale is special to us. We did a dinner at the a few years ago and it was incredible. It reminds me of home. Anyways enough talking. Support the South. It’s the foundation of what we all are and have become. I came to the US as an almost adult and landed in the South. It raised me and I think it has done an excellent job. DUPE means thanks or grateful. So MO DUPE: I’m thankful. See ya ✌🏾

Wifey and I were talking about honey and fermentation and trading stories about wellness. I mentioned how my moms first go to is honey and garlic and she said her grandfather was that way as well and he would add apple cider to it and it reminded me that I have fire cider on my bingo board this year. Anyways for this dinner as with the ones with farming foodways we are going to be there to talk about the food before every course and talk about food and preservation and how it has served us culturally. It’s one of the ways our food has travelled across continents and across the ocean because otherwise it would spoil. So buy your tickets link is ☝🏾on our website and on farming foodways.com/events it’s a small dinner and it’s a continuation of all our conversations of how my food is your food. Buy a ticket for a friend or a partner or someone you want to know more about our food and to celebrate Juneteenth. is a regenerative farm owner by our best friends and it’s a beautiful property 40 mins from Memphis in Hernando. It’s a good place to come breathe and eat and talk and hang out with us. They have the prettiest Oreo cows and peacocks and ducks and chickens and geese that will chase you. The lamb that were actually using for the Clarksdale dinner was raised by them. See yall soon ✌🏾

“Ayo” Joy; we have a weirdly unique situation where we started out as an herb farm and then added on the culinary part to what we do. Cause it’s inevitable when you put a chef from naija and one from Chicago in the same space. The chives that goes into the bagels are massaged into the cream cheese and they come from us. When we do a rosemary loaf it also comes from us. And of course all our baked goods are hand made by us. We use fresh eggs from our farm or from our other wifeys farm cause we want to stay as local as possible and also give the university students perhaps a taste of food that’s hand made when they’re so far away from home. food. We are farmers supporting farmers first. Also thinking of doing a reel of one of my bake days but I suck at filming and the way I’m lazy ehhhhh.. anyways no lele i know yall see us ✌🏾 ✌🏾

Spent most of today prepping and snacking for food truck tomorrow. I leave the house at an ungodly hour cause I finish prep when I get there so I’m already running on tired. Kids have music today so if I don’t prep during the day it’s like pulling teeth. Last thing I do before I walk out the house in the morning is take the croissants out of the oven. It’s Monday, did my run and cleaned my house as well. Have a great week!🙌🏾 take care of each other ✌🏾

I’m finding that spending time with my humans fees like church. Baking a s**t ton as well. Two more weeks of food truck and then we get a break. Still running and listening to podcasts. Sam from reaired the interview with Terry Gross and yall know her and James Baldwin are the Demi gods of my life ( I’m independent Baptist so Jesus is my first love so don’t come for me I’m a weird person who has many beliefs and many complicated opinions of religion) anyways it was refreshing and made my morning. I’m headed back home to finish up baking as I’m cracking up from the joy that is Terry ✌🏾

Introduced the double choc loaf today as a spin on the peanut butter sandwich. Wifey and I had been meaning to do it for a bit and I actually made it by accident. Meaning it was for something else and we just had extras. It was great. Anyways we had the busiest day today than we’ve ever actually had. Exhausted beyond belief, this day really tries to take us out but very grateful for and for this insane opportunity where we get to feed the student fresh sourdough bread, eggs from the farm and herbs also that goes into most of what we do and bowls that are full of healthy veggies. We’re crazy from scratch people if we serve it we made it so it’s great to have people like it. So really thanks to the students who to walk up to our window every Tuesday. See ya next week ✌🏾

Working and being here. Feeling the deep need to go home but too much to do. Spring is in full bloom and so I’m getting back to a place not of normalcy but a place non the less. Cleared out the area where we grew last year and started seeding last week. We’ll see how it goes. Doing a lot today. Both kids have music and we have food truck tomorrow so shopping for that. Best thing is I get to hang out with wifey tomorrow so maybe my week will get better. Ran today usual 5 miles. Felt good cause last week I was so tired I could barely run 3 miles. So I took Sunday off. Some days when you’re in your 40’s and it feels like it’s your last run, just give it a rest and it’ll come back. Be safe out there ✌🏾
