Congratulations to Jordan Toering! Her flat work this summer paid off. Special thanks to Lauren Lee Dearlove for pushing her to pursue this -- this honor is every bit hers as well. How many trainers can take a kid from one discipline and in eight short weeks transition them to this level of success in an entirely different discipline?

A fond reminder of our first Keswick Horse Show from two years ago. Wishing all of our friends and colleagues a great week!

Congratulations to Premonition BHF and Jordan Toering who were champion today in the older juniors at The 115th Annual Keswick Horse Show! Thanks to Zach Parks and Keedie Leonard for convincing us that this show should be one of the highlights of everyone’s show season! Looking forward to next year.

Impatiently waiting until the "official" due date, but Coquette, you can release this foal anytime now!

T-Minus 12 Days! Bent Hickory Farm is anxiously awaiting the arrival of Coquette BHF's foal by Fuerst Gotthard. Bred and produced by us, Coquette is a 16.0H 2006 Hanoverian mare by Coconut Grove/Wanderkoenig/Wendenburg/Winnetou, with an extensive career as a showjumper. With rider Hanna Toering, Coquette successfully competed and placed in smaller grand prixs (1.40m/1.45m). Coquette is already the mother to the successful showjumper Balou Moon BHF, a 2010 Hanoverian mare by Balou du Rouet with wins at 1.40m and top placings at 1.45m.

Coquette is an exceptionally rare Hanoverian mare in the U.S.: 1) sired by a TB stallion; 2) awarded all three AHS breeding designations: Elite Mare, Competition Mare, and Jumper Breeding Program Mare; 3) achieved wins at 1.40m and placings at 1.45m; and 4) already produced a daughter with the same breeding designations and success in high-level competition!

Bent Hickory Farm is anxiously awaiting the arrival of our 2021 foals! Next to discuss is Coquette BHF, who is in foal to Fuerst Gotthard. Bred and produced by us, Coquette is a 16.0H 2006 Hanoverian mare by Coconut Grove/Wanderkoenig/ Wendenburg/Winnetou, with an extensive career as a showjumper. With rider Hanna Toering, Coquette successfully competed and placed in smaller grand prixs (1.40m/1.45m) and with rider Jordan Toering, she successfully competed up to 1.30m in the junior jumper divisions. In 2017, Coquette and Hanna earned a team gold medal in the USHJA Zone 3&4 Jumper Championship, 1.30/1.35m and subsequently were invited to participate in the first USHJA Gold Star Clinic with Richard Spooner. Coquette received numerous year end awards with the AHS including the AHS's "Competition Mare" title for her success in the show ring.

In 2009, Coquette was the high scoring Hanoverian mare at the Mid-Atlantic Hanoverian Breeders Club inspection, scoring an overall 8 with 9s for freejumping. Nationally, she finished with the 4th highest inspection score that year. Coquette joined her mother in the AHS's Jumper Breeding Program.

Coquette is already the mother to the successful showjumper Balou Moon BHF, a 2010 Hanoverian mare by Balou du Rouet. Together with rider Hanna Toering, Balou Moon is successfully showing with wins at 1.40m and top placings at 1.45m.

Coquette’s sire Coconut Grove was a successful Columbian-bred Thoroughbred stallion. In 1998, he won the Toyota Cup, a world-cup qualifying class in Caracas. In 1999, he was awarded the title “Best South American Horse” at the Pan American Games in Winnepeg. In 2000, he finished third at the $100,000 U.S. Open Jumper Championships in Miami. In 2004, Coconut Grove became the first Thoroughbred stallion to be licensed and approved for warmblood breeding by the American Hanoverian Society based on his successful performance career.

Coquette's dam Windbraut competed with both Jayne Toering and Hanna Toering in the 1.0m/1.15m jumper classes. Windbraut won her mare performance test at the MAHB Mare Show in 2001, with high scores for gaits and jumping. Windbraut was purchased as a foal from the VhW Elite Foal Auction in 1997 and descends from at least three generations of states premium mares on the damline.

Fuerst Gotthard was a highly successful showjumping and breeding stallion based in California by First Gotthard(Furioso/Gotthard)/Inschallah/More Magic xx. Shown under the name “The Titleist,” this stallion had wins in multiple Grand Prixs and World Cup classes with Olympic riders Robert Ridland, Hap Hansen and Eddie Macken.
