Swinging Vines Farm

Swinging Vines Farm We are a small family farm in southwest Michigan. We raise and breed Romeldale/CVM sheep and also sell raw fleece, roving, and various other fiber goods.

We raise a small flock of Romeldale/CVM sheep in southwest Michigan. We are excited to be a part of the conservation and preservation of this critically endangered heritage breed. CVM's have incredibly soft fine wool that comes in a large array of colors and patterns. No two are the same! Our sheep are raised on pasture in the summer and hay in the winter. They are coated all year, so they produce a fantastic fleece that is a dream to spin even in the grease.

Once they are finished we will mix in a heavy layer of composted sheep manure and then it’s ready to go next spring! I’ll make sure to post a pic of the piggies finished work soon!

Pink Lady Slipper Radishes are ready from our cold frame! This is our first year using a cold frame and I’m loving how much faster our vegetables are growing. I did a test planting to see the growth rate differences between planting in the cold frame vs. just outside and you can see by the pics how much faster they grew in the cold frame.
