who could have guessed that what started as a campout party appetizer would became the flagship product of FINICKY FOODS for four strong years, and counting 🧀💛🧀

what began in plastic tubs became a dream come true when we switched to recycled glass jars just 14 months later. reducing our plastic footprint was a goal from day 1, and when it finally happened, I’ll be honest, there were tears of joy.

another goal back in 2022 was to create a loyalty program, and this was the best way we knew how: instead of punch cards or earned points, we opted for this — an exchange. a lovely full circle moment ♻️

long before TED LASSO these shortbread bars were a regular staple on our bake menu. we are obsessed with the crunchy sugar outer layer balanced out with a chewy center.

normally these would be served as giant square dessert bars but slicing them in tiny rectangles & packing them in cute pink boxes like on the show is giving us all the feels and we can tell that you can’t get enough — and neither can we!

each week while the show is on spreading love, acceptance & kindness we will have a different flavor SHORTBREAD BAR. we did not anticipate this being our plan but it’s so rewarding seeing the magic unfold with what you’re excited for — and these bars are it.

this 90th birthday cake & cupcake order is my largest cake bake to date and what a special feeling it was to meet the family in town visiting from all over the country to celebrate their mom’s 90th birthday.

the second coolest part was that they found my website from across the country because we specialize in Italian Meringue Buttercream and I guess my SEO is actually worked. it’s a nice feeling to have taught myself how to build my website and then see it unfold in real time 🤗

you have likely noticed that we have a new category of bakes inside the Finicky Foods tent & we are very excited the feedback has been positively wonderful. so we will keep creating these treats for you!

a little more on the ‘why’ ::

it has been close to 90 days since starting a new health journey. by joining a weight loss center, all of the foods consumed now have quite a different focus. committing to taking care of my health has been a priceless experience and it is only just the beginning. within this timeframe the loss of 20+ pounds, the mental clarity, and zero inflammation after years of chronic acid reflux is proof this journey is worth every step.

the shift of sharing these heathly changes through Finicky Foods is such a gift, and it is a joy to see you all enjoying these treats. hearing your health journey stories is so inspiring. we got this, friends!

the cutest cake order lately was this adorable monster truck theme

inside are 3 deliciously moist chocolate cake layers, a chocolate buttercream crumb coat, and wrapped in vanilla buttercream, then topped with crushed oreos

luckily the monster trucks were secured with extra chocolate buttercream because this topper was tall, heavy and rocky because of the oreos — it had me nervous but it turned out better than expected

happily celebrated the new season of ted lasso that aired s4e1 on wednesday and we could not stop ourselves from making the legendary shortbread bars for you this weekend

our recipe is a family favorite, long before these shortbread bars became popular on appletv. the pink boxes we use are about double the size of what you see on ted lasso, so you get 4 bars in each box! the flavor possibilities of shortbread bars are endless, but we chose:
