A lunchtime update from the farm stand:

Guys, I promise that the farm stand is packed to the gills when we open- as evidenced by this picture I took this morning. We even had extras in a bin! But we are now sold out of all the cookies and only have about 6 loaves of sourdough left. Still plenty of eggs and raw milk!

The cakes will be restocked today, but the cookies and bread will not be restocked until the morning.

I sure do appreciate each one of you coming by and making a visit to the farm stand part of your weekly routine. You are such a blessing to us!

This week we have gluten free goodies back in the farm stand for you! Mimi's Bakehouse Gluten Free Cookies has provided several flavors of muffins: Lemon Gold Swirl, Double Chocolate, and a Blackberry Chèvre that I plan on trying! Kokos Cake Pops and More LLC is providing us with some gluten friendly mini cakes today as well: Coconut and Cinnamon Bun.

Our sourdough bread flavor of the week is Cheddar and Chilis- flavorful, but not spicy. This one is a favorite in my house!

Of course we have the classic and soft sandwich sourdough bread and a great line up of fresh baked sweet treats available too. 🍞 🍪 🧁

Looking for raw milk? We have extra this week- three shelves full- so come get what you need!

Let’s talk about our classic sourdough bread. In the farm stand, this bread comes in two shapes: the Classic Artisan Boule (round) and the Classic Sandwich Loaf (rectangular), but it is the exact same dough. Just choose the shape you prefer.

This loaf is made with only 3 ingredients: flour, water, and kosher salt. It’s long fermented for delicious flavor and to be beneficial to your tummy. I guess if there was a 4th ingredient, it would be TIME because you can’t make sourdough bread properly without time- and lots of it! We start the process of making Thursday’s sourdough bread on Monday by bulking up our starter with several feedings. By Tuesday morning, we are ready to start mixing the dough!

Every baker has their own preferred flour/flour blend, and we are no different. Our classic sourdough is made with a blend of two flours. The first is Central Milling’s Organic Artisan Bakers Craft. This flour has one ingredient- organic unbleached wheat flour. There are no added enzymes or any of the additions you will find in fortified flours. Just wheat!

Our second flour of choice is Azure’s Organic, Unbleached Ultra Unifine Bread Flour. It’s made with heritage varieties of hard, red wheat grown at a family ranch in Idaho. It has a protein percentage of almost 16%, which is the highest you can find in America. This flour only has about 12% of the bran and germ removed due to their unique milling process- making it a much more nutritious flour than standardly milled flours. The only ingredient is hard red spring wheat!

Being able to turn three simple ingredients into delicious, nutritious, beautiful bread is such a blessing. We are glad to be able to share that blessing with you!

We’re sold out of cookies (again) as of 1:00, but I have more in the oven and I’m hoping they will be cool enough to package and put out by 2:00.

We are also sold out of sourdough, not I can’t make more of that! We will make extra next week!

It’s Thursday, and the farm stand is open!

Sourdough for the day is Classic Artisan, Classic Sandwich, Soft Sandwich, and Everything Cheddar.

We also have tomato basil foccacia.

For sweets you will find Chubby Hubby Cookies, Biscoff Cookies, Cookie Dunkers (fun!), Fudgy Brownies, Pecan Pie Cake, Chocolate and Vanilla Cakes, Chocolate Hazelnut Cake, and a variety of cake pops.

We even have some new dog treats for all the precious pups in your life!

As always, we have a large stock of raw milk and farm fresh eggs that are available first come, first served.

Phew! That’s a lot of yummy for your tummy! I hope you can stop by!
