Please join me in welcoming Persephone & Demeter to ! These two girls are Flemish Giant Rabbits and we are already in love! They are currently 7 weeks old and are pretty large. But, they are no where near done growing! Did you know they are the largest breed of domesticated rabbit and can weigh up to 40 pounds?! I have wanted rabbits for forever and am thrilled to finally have these sisters at the ranch! Persephone, or Persey, is the darker female and Demeter, or Demey, is the tan female!

Welp… I’ve almost done it all… 😂 If you’ve been here a minute, you know Miss Quill. She’s our little cross beak from our almost original batch. I’ve learned so much about chickens from her! She has a condition called cross beak, aka scissor beak. She slipped through the hatchery cracks & luckily ended up at my door! For the past almost 2 years, I’ve been trimming her beak & helping her as needed with her beak slowly getting worse over the years. Yesterday, I noticed that she wasn’t getting her feathers as clean as her friends were with their dust baths and grooming. So, she ended up in the kitchen sink with some dawn dish soap and a fingernail scrubber to help get those itchy pin feathers! She wasn’t too happy about it today, but I think she will be thrilled with her shiny feathers tomorrow!
