Impromptu hike in Joshua Tree. We were supposed to come visit earlier this week, but had some sickness roll through the fam. Decided to boon-dock for a few nights before heading down to San Diego. I think we made the right call!

Finally made it into Sedona for a hike before the weather turns. Did the Airport Mesa Loop and were blown away by the views. Hard to believe this place isn’t a national park. We were finishing up lunch when the sun streaked through the clouds and illuminated Cathedral Rock, what a moment!

50 Pies in Arizona! Tonight we completed our 50th pizza/pie in Arizona. We did our last 2 pizza parties in the midst of big events and love bring large groups of people together to mingle over food. But without the large crowd and excitement of an event, we didn’t know how today would go. We fired up the oven and were able to connect with a family we met in Colorado back in October over a few pizzas. But by the end of hanging out with them, we still had 13 pizzas and 5 pies left. Something told us to keep the oven running. Our neighbors arrived back to camp soon after with some sick kiddos, but were hungry and chowed down on some pepperoni pizza. A family we met at Bash that has been sidelined with illness snagged a few pizzas and pies that Wendy drove up to their campsite. And a few families that were arriving late because of some health issues saw our messages and we were able to greet them with a few pizzas as they arrived into camp. By the end of the night all 16 pizzas and 6 pies had been handed out. While we weren’t able to bring everyone together in the same way, we felt that tonight was a really cool glimpse into the awesome community that exists on the road. The stories we heard tonight of strangers and acquaintances who stepped up to help their fellow travelers was truly inspiring. We felt honored we could offer a few warm slices of pizza and pie that hopefully open doors to deeper connections down the road.
