AM Homestead & Rabbitry We are a small homestead and rabbitry in Wentworth, NC. We breed New Zealand and Creme D'argent rabbits for meat, and show.

Backyard mix chicks and ducklings (Khaki Campbell and BYM) plus eggs.

My pretty girls have been bred. 🤞🏼for kits in 31-ish days. 💛

Popcorn was 9 #5 and Sutton was a whopping 10 #11. Pop is Sutton’s dam and she appears to throw the thick girls. 😂 Storie and Cami have a different sire than Sutton and they are growing just as well!

This is Sutton’s first litter. She played hard to get for a bit but we were able to get 2 fall offs. Poppy is always ready to breed 😂. Both girls will be rebred tomorrow after Shrimpy has had a good night sleep. 😉💛

Our 2026-27 season starts this weekend. 💛

Sutton, one of our maidens, will be bred back to her sire, Shrimp.

Poppy, my foundation doe, will also be paired with Shrimp. She’s such a wonderful dam. She has 3 daughters in the barn and I’m crossing my fingers her maternal instincts were passed down to them. 🤞🏼

Annabelle has a date with “Big Daddy” (Butterscotch) this weekend too. 😊

We have two more maidens, Storie and Cami, who will be bred in a couple of weeks and Lucille too!

It feels like FOREVER since we’ve had kits in nesting boxes! I’m so excited for this season! 🥰

Yesterday afternoon Michael and I heard a commotion in the run, sounds we don’t normally hear from our flock. We ran out back to find Hudson, my 6 month old Black Spanish Jake, dragging a hawk from under the rabbit “barn”.

We did a quick count of ducks and chickens and realized we were missing one. Michael found my tiny Katana near the coop, deceased. 😢

Hudson had also made sure that particular hawk would no longer be a threat to his flock. 💛

I’m incredibly sad over the loss of my sweet girl. She was hatched in an incubator, on our kitchen counter, a year ago last month. She was my Hattie Mae’s BFF, our little “AI chicken” because she looked fake. Michael buried her next to Hankie. 💛

Rest easy, sweet girl. Wonderful job, my Turkey Boy!

I’m excited to see what Storie, her sister, and half sister give us this year and have to remind myself that only the best REW stay. 😉💛
