Our little popcorn shrimps are 16 days old, stressing me out by doing what they do and exploring outside the nest box and practicing their 💀 naps. 🙄

2 blacks (buck and doe), 3 himi (all does), a REW (doe) and a broken black (buck). I’m hoping to find each individual kit a purpose on a new homestead. I’m going to start evaluating at 8 weeks and go from there. The ones who don’t make the cut? They will fulfill a different purpose. 💛

Also, calm down. The little black buck I’m holding is FINE! We were having an entire conversation and he was listening very closely. 😂

If all goes well, my Fat Man, Chai, will be heading to another homestead next week. 😢

Sometimes hard choices have to be made and that doesn’t always mean culling.

Chai Latte is SO loved. He’s such a good boy, takes his job as a sire very seriously 😉, produces big ole beefy kits but I have decided to go a different way with the colors in my barn.

He will be heading about 2 hours way to help another meat program since their current buck has no desire to breed. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m sad. I love Chai very much and if it all falls through and he has to stay, that’s okay too! 😉

I will be breeding him to Chamomile before he leaves. 💛

This little tiny, 2 week old NZ buck ripped his toenail at some point this afternoon. 😢 You can see it in this picture (obviously taken before I noticed it).

He’s been cleaned up, checked over and tucked back in with his littermates. Nothing is broken. He doesn’t seem to be hurting any. He even got to come inside to be smooched and gushed over. 😉

Cleaned the nestbox today and looked at genders, again. 🙄

The kits are 12 days old and my prediction is-

At least 3 out of 4 white kits are himi. Every single white is a doe. 😭

The broken and one of the black kits are does. The other black kit is a buck.

I’m still learning to identify genders this young so we are going to cross our fingers that the one little white kit is a REW buck! 😉😂

I haven’t shared my Turkey Boy, Hudson William, with you in awhile!

He’s 8-ish months old now. He’s a really nice boy who tolerates head scratches and face kisses. He is infatuated with our barn cats and sits as close to their house as he can and just watches them. 🥹 He feels personally attacked by feed bags and chases Michael whenever he refills the feed bins. He’s a derp and would rather sleep in the run than the coop and fusses whenever he has to go inside. 🙄 He’s a real pain in the butt too and likes to stand on the roof of the rabbit barn and gobble at 6am. 🤦🏻‍♀️ He tries to run into the house anytime the backdoor, that leads to the run, is open. He gets along fine with the chickens and the ducks and they just exist together. 💛

He is so handsome and so loved. 🥰

The ONE year I want a REW buck. 🙄

There’s a slight chance Sutton’s maiden litter will give me REW. Both her parents are carriers and she was bred back to her sire so 🤞🏼

This is going to be the longest rabbit pregnancy EVER! 😂

Anyway. Look at this girl and the craps she gives. 😂 She’s fine. She’s tolerating my crap. 😉
