Our Story
Our daughter, Jessica, was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer when she was 19 years old. She spent 139 days of the next 6 months in the hospital, 39 of which were in the ICU. During this time, I wanted to learn everything I could about how the body heals itself. I spent many long hours researching and studying to find out what she needed to heal.
In my research, I found that boosting the immune system with fermented foods like kombucha was a key to healing. Only one problem stood in her way, the vinegary taste that made it almost impossible for her to drink .With necessity being the mother of invention, I set out to make the healing tonic for my daughter, so that it would have as many nutrients as possible without the sugar and caffeine. again with many long hours of research I found fermenting in oak barrels made it more mellow with a less vinegar taste. this gives us the ability to ferment 3 times longer for more probiotics, antioxidants & “gut bugs” the body needs to thrive. This is great news because now you can drink it because you like it not Just because it’s good for you. Jessica also followed a plan that included changes to her lifestyle, body, mind & soul such as diet, exercise, relaxation, fresh air, sunshine, grounding, positive attitude, laughter and other changes. Although her doctors had given her less than three months to live, nine months later Jessica was doing so well she moved back out on her own with her daughters.
This Journey led me back to school to become a Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner, and Functional Nutritionist with a focus on Epigenetic, (the science of gene expression)
We are not saying that drinking kombucha is going to cure your cancer. but it is an important building block for good health and healing.
