My name is Tom and I am the founder of the GreenPrepared Blog. I have worked in Public Safety, Emergency Management and Preparedness for the past twenty years and I am committed to helping individuals and families bec

As a former Homeland Security Program Manager, Preparedness Consultant and Trainer I have provided support to local, state, federal and international partners in preparedness planning and implementation. I am writing this blog in an effort to help individuals and families become more self-reliant. I have always believed that preparedness begins at home and I am excited about applying my experiences to this endeavor to help you become more self-reliant. I live on a small farm with my wife and two kids tending to a garden, chickens, rabbits and three dogs. Many of the posts in this blog are my personal account and photos of projects and activities straight from the family homestead in Rhode Island.
