Gus Gus just gained 8 new ladies to love and protect today! The brooder babies are fully feathered and in their integration pen where they'll spend the next few days getting to know their flock (from the protection of their pen). Hopefully they'll be fully integrated soon! Once they are, you'll be introduced to them individually! Here's just a preview. ❤️🐓🐔

Announcing the chosen names for our 8 new ladies! Below is the breed and names for each. Individual pics with names to come. They're getting into the phase with lots of zoomies, so it's hard to get clear pics! 🤣

Dark Brahma - Mildred (Millie)

2 x Splash Ameraucanas - Dottie and Sodi (like sodium since we already have a Pepper in the flock)

Blue Cochin - Misty

Partridge Cochin - Penny

2 x Black copper marans - Teriyaki (Teri) and Ember

Buff Orpington - Pumpkin

The babies are growing so fast and are way bigger than Mama Nugget now. They still know not to mess with her food, though! 🤣

Overdue update on Taters and Gravy! They're now about as big as mama Nugget! These photos are a week or two old, but we're seeing fluffy cheeks now coming in and they've been long since fully accepted by the flock.

Gus Gus has stepped up as their protector while Nugget has resumed laying eggs, and he often runs to them if he's worried about them or calls them over to share snacks. The second photo shows Nugget still snuggling one of her babies despite them being almost her size. Now that her babies are bigger, she's back to being our snuggly girl. ❤️

A little update on Taters and Gravy (baby Nuggets)!!! They're growing so well and Mama Nugget has been doing such an amazing job with them! Even though she's usually the sweetest and cuddliest of the flock, she's been quite a fierce mama lately! ❤️
