The rooster round up is coming up very quickly! This is the final one of the year and likely the last one until next May-ish. I don't plan that far in advance, don't we know this by know? 😂
I cannot accept roosters after the drop off, as I don't have long term housing for them separate from my personal flock.
I have been receiving almost 200 birds at each drop off, so dog crate donations for temporary containment are always appreciated! If you are driving & see one on the side of the road, please think of me and grab it! :)
So bring your birds on December 7 from 10 to 12 at Boulay Farm and Market, LLC !
Please do not bring birds to them early. They are nice enough to let me use their space, I do not want to add any extra work for the wonderful owners & staff!

The eggs were bought as jumbos and there are some females bigger than others

I would like them to all go together but would also be willing to separate into two groups

After a weekend of cool weather I have been reflecting on this summers garden. I was discouraged in the beginning of the season as the cold wet weather stunted my plants for weeks.

As I harvest my warm weather crops I am incredibly grateful for the nourishment this garden still continues to provide my family given the setbacks.

Now we wait on the root crops, grain corn, and winter squash to see just how successful this season was.

As many of you know, from the previous post, we’ve been hit HARD lately with my husband losing his job unexpectedly, a recent house fire, and our daughter’s upcoming surgery and medical bills. This is on top of some tough losses like Doug and some of our silkie breeders this Summer. It’s been a lot, and we’re just doing everything we can to stay afloat at this point.
