Vaden Homeplace

Vaden Homeplace Available for nightly or weekly rental. Fully furnished. The Vaden Homeplace is located on 58 acres. The land was purchased by William (Bill) Vaden in 1900.

Bill and his wife Moriah Lawson Vaden built the farmhouse in1903 where they raised 8 of thier 11 children. They are buried on the property in the William Vaden Family Cemetery. Their youngest son, Royal Sandy Vaden, inherited the property after his parents' death. He and his wife Nannie Jones Vaden raised their 6 children in the farmhouse also. In 1969 after Sandy's death; Jones Vaden (1 of Sandy'

s sons) & his wife Gladys purchased the property from his 5 siblings. Jones made the farmhouse into a rental property and placed around 20 black angus cattle on the property. He added vinyl siding to the house and barn in the 80's and veneered the fireplaces and chimneys in local Vaden Quarry rock. In 2008 Jones and Gladys's daughter, Debbie , inherited the property. The property has now been in the Vaden family for 4 generations. Many older relatives say the place still looks very much as it did in the 1920's.
