A MOTHER’S LOVE. A HOMESTEAD’S HEARTBREAK. A STORY OF SURVIVAL. 🐣❀️

Today, we’re sharing a difficult story from Spirited Chances Homestead in Westminster, Maryland, Carroll County.
We recently lost a beautiful mother hen, along with some of our other hens, to an unknown predator. πŸ’”

But in the middle of that heartbreak, there is a little bit of hope.

Her babies survived. 🐣❀️
And they have now been welcomed and adopted by other mother hens, who are caring for them and giving these little chicks the chance to grow up safe and loved. πŸ₯ΉπŸ”
We will never know exactly what happened that day, but we will always remember the mother who protected her babies and the precious little lives she left behind.

Homestead life isn't always cute baby animals and sunny days. Sometimes it means experiencing loss, learning from difficult moments, and doing everything we can to protect and care for the animals who depend on us. 🌱🏑

Today, we’re choosing to remember her for the life she gave, the babies who survived, and the mothers who stepped in to help. ❀️
