New chicks have arrived at Henny’s Homestead!

After some tough losses from coyotes, we’re rebuilding our flock—one tiny chick at a time. While it’s been a hard season, we’re grateful that not all of our chickens were lost and we still have part of our flock going strong.

These little ones won’t be laying eggs for a while, but they’re helping us build the flock back up and keep things moving forward around here. For now, they’re staying safe, warm… well, mostly one already made a break for it and ended up exploring our mudroom!

Hello, Spring! We’re Back!

After a long winter “hibernation,” Henny’s Homestead is waking back up—and so is our social media!

The first signs of spring are finally here. We’re starting to see little green sprouts popping up, and we’ve already begun planting for the season ahead. There’s nothing better than that fresh dirt + sunshine feeling to kick things off again.

The chickens are happier, the days are longer, and we’re so excited for everything this season will bring!

Good news: We still have honey available from last season—perfect timing as we gear up for a new year of blooms and busy bees.

Thanks for sticking with us through the winter… we can’t wait to share more of the homestead with you this spring!

Tomorrow (Sunday) is our LAST day of pumpkin sales for the season. Don’t miss your chance to grab the perfect ones for carving, decorating, or baking.

Today we’re celebrating the queens in our lives—both the moms who keep everything running and the actual queens we just welcomed to the farm! This Mother’s Day, we installed new bee packages, each with a strong queen ready to build her hive and raise the next generation.

Just like our own families, a hive thrives because of a powerful, nurturing leader at its center. Here’s to the moms—and queen bees—who keep the world buzzing.

Spring has officially begun on the farm — our first peas are in the ground!
And nope, this is not an April Fools’ joke — we’re really out here planting peas and soaking up that early spring sunshine. Feels good to get our hands in the soil again. Stay tuned as the season unfolds and the farm starts blooming!
