Fifty & Seasoned Fifty and Seasoned - a cozy corner of the internet where life gets better with age—and so does the cooking.

I'm a proud 50-something mom, wife, and professional who's seasoned by experience and fueled by good food, family, and a splash of humor.

I decided to go back to working full-time, not because I regret exploring passions, but because I missed being part of something bigger. If you’ve ever faced that crossroads, this one’s for you. New Recipe: This week's recipe comes from my daughter's kitchen

Hey there! This week's recipe is a special one — and it comes with a little backstory. My daughter is getting married very soon, and this past weekend we celebrated her bridal shower. (Check out the blog post if you missed it!) She has grown into such a wonderful cook, and one of my favorite thing...

Gen X spring break:
- 20 hour drives with no screens
- License plate games
- Bologna sandwiches in the car
- Conversion vans with no seatbelts
- Noxzema on sunburned skin
- Sleeping on car floorboards

My kids will never have these memories because I refuse road trips over a few hours. 😂 But man, do they for make good stories.

Feeling like you can’t rest? You’re not alone. In my latest post I unpack being a Gen X woman caught in the productivity trap and share small, real ways to reclaim rest and self-care. Honest, relatable, and quick to read (2 min). Read more: https://wix.to/0yt7Xie

I haven't been feeling my best this week, so you'll have to forgive me if my thoughts are a bit scattered in this post. It's a good thing I posted those television show recommendations because I've definitely been taking advantage of them over the past few days. (Who else can't wait for Part 2 of Br...

Not everything we feel as we age is due to menopause! Sometimes it’s just life throwing us a plot twist. I learned this firsthand when unexpected shoulder pain reminded me that perhaps I’m just a klutz. Read more about my experience here: https://wix.to/KHIZkpz

I finally went to the doctor today because I just can't handle whatever is going on with my shoulder. Did I fall or have an injury of some sort? I don't think so. Was I in an accident? Not that I recall. Am I just imagining it with my normal fifty and seasoned body? I wasn't sure. Here's the thing: I...

A Toast to You (and What's Ahead)

As this year winds down, I find myself sitting here with a cup of coffee—probably lukewarm by now—thinking about all the unexpected ways life unfolds when you let yourself pivot.

A year ago, I wasn't sure what this whole thing would become. Fifty & Seasoned was still finding its footing, Flour & Wisdom was more dream than reality, and honestly? Some days I wondered if I'd completely lost my mind leaving the corporate world to sell sourdough and talk about being over 50.

But then you showed up.

You bought my pumpkin spice loaves at the farmers market. You read my rambling thoughts about empty nests and midlife and the glorious mess of reinvention. You ordered custom treat boxes and handmade ornaments. You told me your own stories—about your own pivots, your own "what comes next" moments. You made me feel less alone in this beautifully uncertain chapter.

So thank you. For every purchase, every kind word, every share, every "I can relate" comment. You didn't just support a small business—you supported a middle-aged woman brave enough (or foolish enough, depending on the day) to build something new.

Next year? There's a podcast launching in January, more recipes to share, more stories to tell, more reasons to celebrate being fairly seasoned and sort of sassy. I can't wait to see where we go together.

Here's to you. Here's to us. Here's to being fifty-something and still figuring it all out.

Cheers, Tracey
