Phoenix of Horseshoe Bend Highlands is an AHCA registered heifer and will be available for her new home after weaning just in time for Christmas 2026! She was born June 18, 2026. Strong lineage on both sides includes top Highland breeders Skye High, Shat-Acres and LEA farms. Great grandfather on her sire’s side was 2010 Denver National winner! Hang on Mom I’m gettin my sprays! 😂 In this heat it is crucial to keep babies like 2 week old Phoenix cool as the little ones have a much harder time regulating their body temperature. But just as important, I have found spraying their bottoms like you see here, greatly reduces the risk of fly strike. I had a little one get fly strike in their behind one year and I had to dig out the fly larvae from inside that little exit hole 😳. Luckily I caught it in time and baby got cleaned up and was fine. But that larvae can move up inside and hatch in the intestines and if that happens the baby can get very ill and possibly die. As you can see she even moves her tail away to get her behind sprayed 😂. Trying to catch these little babies to clean their bottoms is difficult so this I have found to he the best and most enjoyable way for both of us to keep that little bottom clean.

Phoenix is Available!

Phoenix of Horseshoe Bend Highlands is two weeks old today! Our first AHCA registered heifer on the farm ❤️ She is available and will be ready for her new home in 6 months when weaned (Just in time for Christmas!)
