About Appal-TREE

Appal-TREE (Appalachians Together Restoring the Eating Environment) is a joint community-university research and demonstration project to increase access to healthy foods in Eastern Kentucky. The project serves Knott, Letcher and Harlan Counties in Eastern Kentucky. This National Institutes of Health research project, awarded to the University of Kentucky in partnership with Community Farm Alliance, consists of two components in each county - healthy cooking classes in the community and Go H2O, a drinking water promotion in the schools.
