Whoever reported my car in the disabled parking at Target—what was the actual reason?
I was inside for less than five minutes. I went in, grabbed what I needed, and came straight back out, and my car was already being lifted onto a tow truck.
How does that happen that quickly?
I wasn’t parked there long-term or occupying the space unnecessarily. It was a brief stop.
Yet that was enough for someone to report it.
Now I’m dealing with a tow yard, fees, and unnecessary stress over something that escalated far beyond what it should have.
It was five minutes.

I just finished a DoorDash delivery and I’m still shaking my head. Do people really think $40 is some huge, life-changing tip where you need to add a note like “hope this was enough”?
Before anyone jumps in—yes, I saw the tip, and yes, I know a lot of people would consider that generous. But when you actually look at what goes into a delivery, it’s not always as simple as the number sounds.
I drove across town, dealt with traffic, waited while the order was delayed, and then had to navigate a confusing apartment complex just to find the right door. By the time it was done, that $40 didn’t feel as big as it might seem on paper.
There are real costs too—gas, time, wear on the car—and that all adds up with every order. It’s not just about the tip amount, it’s everything behind it.
What stands out is the expectation. Customers want fast, flawless service every time, but the moment a driver questions whether the tip matches the effort, it gets taken the wrong way.
I’m not saying people shouldn’t tip—I just think there’s a disconnect between what customers see as generous and what it actually takes to complete the delivery. 🙄🙄🙄

There was a time when leaving a 20 percent tip felt like a fair and appropriate way to acknowledge good service.
Now, however, even after leaving that amount, many people still find themselves second-guessing whether it is considered enough.
Often, nothing is said directly. There may be no comment or obvious reaction. But when a receipt includes a circled 25 percent suggestion, a highlighted total, or a handwritten note reinforcing the expectation, it can begin to feel less like a voluntary gratuity and more like an implied obligation.
As menu prices and overall bills continue to rise, tipping expectations also seem to increase alongside them. That has left many customers asking an understandable question: is tipping still meant to be a discretionary gesture based on service, or has it gradually become another fixed expectation people are simply expected to absorb?

Okay nah… this actually made me mad.
I walked into Five Guys thinking I was about to grab something quick and simple.
Two burgers.
One fry.
No drinks, no extras, nothing crazy.
So tell me WHY the total came out to $32.29???
THIRTY. TWO. DOLLARS.
For what??
This isn’t a steakhouse. Nobody’s bringing food to my table. I’m still standing there waiting for my number like any other fast food spot… but somehow the price is acting like I made a reservation.
And the wild part is it doesn’t even feel expensive while you’re ordering.
“Yeah, I’ll take two burgers.”
“Add a fry.”
Cool, casual, no big deal.
Then the receipt prints and suddenly I feel like I just financed lunch.
At what point did a “quick bite” turn into something you actually have to think about first? Because this isn’t just pricey… it feels quietly disrespectful 😭

And they say it all with a straight face like this is completely normal.
I even got the “just think of it like your food is on sale if you pay cash” speech.
Yeah… no.
First time I’ve ever tipped $0—and honestly, after this experience, I get why people are done playing along.

I walked up to my car and saw a dent out of nowhere — the kind of surprise nobody wants.
And instead of a person, there’s just a note tucked under my wiper like that somehow makes it okay:
“My bad, call me.”
That’s it. No waiting, no conversation — just handwriting and a phone number like we’re about to be pen pals.
I didn’t even call right away. I just stood there looking at the damage and the note, trying to decide if I’m supposed to appreciate the effort. Because if you had time to write a message and neatly place it under my wiper, you had time to stay and handle it properly.
Instead, it’s write the note and disappear… then expect me to do all the follow-up like I’m the one responsible.
Honestly, I almost just crumpled it up and threw it away. If I hit someone’s car, I’m not leaving a quick apology and walking off — I’m staying there and dealing with it face to face.
This whole “I left my number, I did my part” mindset feels like the bare minimum.
They probably think they handled it the right way, but to me it just feels like avoiding the situation and hoping a piece of paper is enough to make it go away.

I got into it with a stranger at McDonald’s today, and now I’m sitting here wondering if I was actually in the wrong.
We finished eating and left the table how it usually looks — tray, wrappers, nothing crazy. As we’re walking out, this older guy stops us and starts going off about how we’re “disrespectful” for not throwing everything away ourselves.
That’s where I got confused.
We paid for the food and the service. In my mind, part of that includes staff coming around and clearing tables. It’s not a full sit-down restaurant, but it’s also not like there’s a big sign saying you *have* to clean up either.
Next thing you know, it turns into a whole scene — voices raised — and somehow we’re the ones being asked to leave like we did something totally out of line.
Now I’m actually thinking about it… has this become some kind of unspoken rule everyone follows?
Or was that guy just doing way too much?
Be honest — are you throwing your stuff away at places like that, or leaving it for staff? Isn’t cleaning up part of the job anyway?

I saw this turtle on a trail this morning in central Virginia. It looked like there was a slug attached to its shell, but then I noticed what seemed like a sticker or label on the “slug.”
What could this be? Is it actually a slug that somehow got a piece of labeled trash stuck to it, or did someone intentionally attach and label something on the turtle for tracking or research purposes?

Found this in our hotel room while looking for a lost AirPod—it was sitting on the floor next to the bed. I seriously doubt it’s some kind of listening device, and it seems broken or non-functional anyway. Still, it’s clearly electronic, has adhesive on it, and is very low-profile. Any idea what it might be? We’re staying at a Studio Six in Texas. If it looks wet, that’s because my wife soaked it in the sink just to be safe.
