Walt's Bonfire and ROD'S BBQ -
The 11th year - in the books!
A couple extra days to help fix up the shop, and then a great relaxing cook, and awesome help when I asked, need to do that . Friday AM set up my cook area, set schedule w/seasoning,starting times,tools needed. Gotta make those list, they work. Noon seasoned and trimmed 4 pork butts & 3 briskets. Started fire, rotated fish in H2O,beef on @ 4. Trimmed and portioned flatheads/blues 30 +lbs. Fish fry began and into the night we went with live music, conversation and beverage! Butts on at 12, naps with alarm started .

Retired firefighters luncheon is done, had a great rime seeing old and new friends . 4 meats, 3 sides with a buttered bread slice chaser, need anything else? Second's please. As the O G's say keep practicing someday you'll figure it out! Bet they say the same thing next time too!

It's that time again - cooking for the Retired Wichita Firefighter luncheon and Memorial service at the museum on Sunday. Love doing this cook!

Seasoned the meats, light the fire, into the smoker. Prepare the sides - then laid it out for the Wichita Retired Firefighters luncheon. Repeat for the Wichita Firefighters Memorial Service tomorrow.
