Man itā€™s been a while; where to start? This weekend we made the short trip down to Derby for the 15th annual Smoke on the plains BBQ and music festival. This event is such a fun time for everyone. We were beyond excited that the it didnā€™t drop a hurricane rain on us this year! We competed in the backyard division again this year and managed to walk away with a 10th place finish over all, with chicken being 11th and the Prairie Fresh ribs landing us a 12th place. We also competed in the Pie contest this year and our boy Kavan did his thing and whipped up a gorgeous Lemon Meringue pie and the judges thought so too! Scoring a perfect 180! He was 1 number away from a Perfect Perfect! Couldnā€™t be more excited at the fact that the Monkeys first team call was a 1st place call with a score like that! On another note the mini monkey got to walk the stage in the kids Q cookie category cooking up some smoked M&M cookies with his pawpaw the OG Bearded Monkey! The Monkeys had some new threads this year courtesy of Indyvinyls! Man were they sharp, comfy and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend! Of course we only use the best products. Blues Hog, Bear Mountain pellets, Prairie Fresh pork, Heath Riles, Kinders, and Kozmos Q products help the Monkeys put out the best products we can for 6 strangers in a parking lot. Hopefully we can get our schedule fix so we can get out and enjoy the camaraderie that the bbq community has more often. Till next time!

Congrats to all who heard the call and made the walk; The Monkeys are back in the lab fine tuning somethings, (canā€™t reveal all the secrets to the Monkey Magic) till the next one šŸ˜ŽāœŒšŸ»

This Monkeys mini Monkey was in the kitchen helping last night, he got his own kids safe kitchen set from one of his great grandmas and has been chomping at the bit to use them. Not bad for his first time using them.
