Part of prepping for my custom orders each week is tracing the cookie cutters and making sketches before I start decorating. I draw all the designs and write notes for what colors will go where. This helps me figure out how much of each color of icing to prep.
And I even design the images in Canva that will be projected onto the cookies at this point too. This makes it go quicker later on when I’m actually working on the cookies so it’s all ready to go.
A couple years ago I tried to learn ProCreate on my iPad to make these sketches fancier and more professional looking, but in the end paper and pencil works the same and this process is just for me.
