This girl…Fancy is her name. She is constantly broody. I always give her the chicks that I hatch and she has never pushed any away. I have a broody Ayam Cemani that I gave some chicks to this morning. She accepted 2 and tried to hurt the third, that was a different color. I immediately gave it to Fancy and she scooted it right under her wing. Such a good mama.

I guess my buff Orpington AND my Ayam Cemani are both ready to be a mamas. This is the third day that I’ve seen them both sitting in the same nesting boxes.
