Rolling Rock Homestead

🐐🥛 Matilda is officially paying her rent… one jar of milk at a time! 🤣❤️

There’s just something special about fresh goat milk straight from your own homestead! 🏡

Miss Matilda has been earning her keep, and we sure aren’t complaining! 🥛💕 From fresh milk in the fridge to all the homemade goodies we have planned, this sweet girl is quickly becoming valuable around here.

One more step toward being a little more self-sufficient, and we’re loving every minute of it! 🌿

Now the big question… Would you drink fresh goat milk? 🐐🥛👇

Stalls are going up, and apparently we’ve got a construction supervisor! 🐐🔨

Matilda is keeping a close eye on every move, poking her nose into the project, and making sure we don’t take too many breaks. Pretty bossy for somebody who gets paid in hay! 😂

Anybody else have “helpers” who spend more time inspecting than helping?

Dolly found herself a rock to stand on and decided that made her management. 🐐😂

She’s been trying to be the boss around here, supervising the homestead like she pays the feed bill. We haven’t had the heart to tell her that being the tallest goat on the rock doesn’t come with a promotion!

Anybody else have an animal who thinks they run the whole place? 🤎

On the road again… 😁 I’m sure my husband is tired of my shenanigans by now. 😂

There is nothing quite like making your own lard from scratch for the homestead! Have you ever tried rendering your own pork fat before?

Yall I can’t today!!!

We were just trying to grab a round bale with the tractor to feed the goats. 🐐🌾 Simple enough, right?

Apparently the hay bale had other plans. 🤦‍♀️😂

One wrong roll later and now it’s parked beside the house like it pays the mortgage.

Homestead rule #1: Nothing is ever as simple as it sounds. 😂

Who else has had a “this was supposed to be a quick chore” turn into an adventure?

We are working on a bigger garden this winter, so I’d have to say more goats or more land 😁
