We are extremely excited to announce our 2023 pairing, Finn and Madonna!
At only four years old, Finn was recognized for his exemplary skill by the Border Collie Society of America. In 2022, he was awarded the coveted Versatility award. In early 2023, he earned the Champion Excellent award, and just last month qualified for the highly sought after Versatility Excellent award. Despite being shown sporadically through the year, he has comfortably maintained his top 40 breed ranking, and is currently in the top 20 owner handled Border Collies per BSCA statistics.
Madonna displayed veracity and versatility, being pulled off the sheep ranch in Central Florida and easily earning a major win in Louisiana, quickly placing her ⅓ of the way to her AKC Championship during her first two weekends out.
Finn and Madonna have both been presented to herding specialist judges, each earning high compliments towards type, function, and their correct movement. Finn and Madonna have both demonstrated cool, clear, and instinctive heads on sheep stock, and are more than fit for exhibition in the show ring.
In addition to their successes in AKC Conformation, both have had successes in performance sports. Finn has had a stellar sporting career, earning titles in obedience, rally, and herding. Alongside his titles, he has several placements in Barn Hunt and scent work. Madonna has just begun her sporting career, and is showing great aptitude for rally and scent work. She has breezed through her first virtual scent work title, and recently completed the CGC series. To no one’s surprise, both have easily completed several trick titles and are pursuing more.
Finn and Madonna both display well-rounded, honest, biddable, and kind personalities and are a pleasure to live with, train with, and compete with. They travel well and have excellent off-switches for when it’s time to kick off your boots. Both dogs are frequently put into new situations outside their comfort zones, and adjust quickly and smoothly.
