Northbound Highway 101 Drivers Urged to Expect Delays in Ukiah as Construction Continues

UKIAH, CA — October 15, 2026 — Motorists traveling northbound on Highway 101 through Ukiah should anticipate traffic delays as ongoing road construction, repaving, lane reductions, and ramp closures continue to impact traffic.

The heaviest delays have been reported between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM, particularly during afternoon school dismissal and evening commute hours, when many residents are leaving work.

Drivers traveling along both North State Street and northbound Highway 101 have reported delays of up to 45 minutes during peak traffic periods.

Construction crews continue repaving operations, with portions of northbound Highway 101 reduced to a single lane and some off-ramps temporarily closed.

Motorists are encouraged to allow additional travel time, especially during the late afternoon and early evening, remain alert for construction workers and equipment, and follow posted traffic signs.
