Three year old Jam here shown with her first calf (bull) was the first highland born on our farm. We were assured by the person we bought her dam from that she (jams mom) was purebred highland and bred by a ahca registered highland bull. Well, as beautiful as she may be Jam never grew horns! So somewhere down the line she is crossed with something. Though she’s been a favorite on our farm she does not fit the program we are trying to build so unfortunately she will need a new home. If you want a well mannered Dunn highland without horns she might be your girl. We have her, among other registered and non registered females and Bulls available for purchase. Shes in her working clothes and pretty dirty from keeping cool in the pond. No photoshop or fancy hair doos here. Just working cows. Contact us if you are looking to get in the highland business or expand your herd.

Holly usually has bulls. But this year she gave us this nice little white heifer! Notice the width on this 1,200 lb cow. We don’t raise minis here. They may not look like your typical cow, but we are still in the beef business.

I’m quite certain that if you go far enough back, you will find a hippopotamus somewhere in highland genetics. Let’s just hope for some rain soon or there won’t be water left to cool off in!

American Highlands are known to be excellent (and long-serving) breeders. Why? 👇

⭐️ High Calving Ease: American Highland cows have built-in body features (such as a moderate frame size) made for calving.

⭐️ Smaller Birth Weights: As most calves are small in size, calving difficulty is less common.

⭐️ Strong Maternal Instincts: These cows are known for being highly devoted and protective mothers.
