Our next mama is "looking heavy" according to our 7 year old barn manager Lawson so we moved her to a farrowing pen and now we wait.
Bee update! Jake took the screens off of the hive this morning and the bees seem to be adjusting.
We have been feeding them sugar water, and they have some empty frames and some frames with honey to encourage them to start living and working here.
You can see in this video how they are going up and down outside the hive, they are memorizing the pattern we have painted on the hive so they know where their home is. Bees are amazing!! ๐๐ฏ
We are hopeful that they will stay!
Here is the brawn behind the operation laying plastic with drip tape underneath. The plastic helps with weed control & the drop tape allows for efficient watering. Itโs a pretty neat implement!
