We’ve really been working with these to get them used to the water, when I say “we’ve really been working with them” I mean we’ve done it only a couple times and they took to it like goats loving water is a natural thing 😂😂😂 They always seem to surprise and impress me❤️

Phew! It’s been busy around here lately! Fair week is finally upon us and soon we’ll have a little more free time again. The girls have been going non stop lately between getting ready for fair and bottle feeding next years projects, we’re pretty excited for next year❤️ Here’s some fun pics of what’s been going on lately here at Creek Bottom. If you see us at Fair this week say hi! Hope everyone has a great week and everyone stays cool out there 😉

Out for a stroll with Ricky Bobby. This up and comer is out of Moonshine and Lefty, owned by Border Farms in Bozeman, MT. Lefty was bred by Callie Russell and is a really great buck. I am so excited to see what Ricky is going to turn into, he’s already so great❤️

This little Sweet Pea found herself a choke cherry sprout this evening. If you aren’t familiar with choke cherries, they are extremely toxic to goats. The bark and leaves contain cyanide so you can imagine what happens to a goat when ingested. That happened to Sweet Pea. We had just put up the other goats and brought her to come inside for dinner. She had kinda wandered off in an area that we had gone through before but apparently not good enough. When I called her over she seemed kinda off, the kids and I were all chatting with my husband when we noticed her start acting really off. Little stumbly and clacking her mouth like something nasty was in there. I told my husband I think she might’ve eaten something. No sooner did I get the words out then she started foaming at the mouth. My oldest daughter (her owner) grabbed the activated charcoal, got a dose of that down her, she instantly started feeling better. Followed up with a dose of electrolytes and vitamin b. I think that little thing is going to be just fine but boy, does that give ya a scare!
So if you’re still reading, go peek at your medical supplies, make sure they’re stocked and ready to go. You just never know when you might need it.
