I finally have it!

After months of testing and tweaking formulas here at home, our very first handcrafted all purpose cleaner is finally coming to the shop inside of The Sassy Sisters . These are plant based, vinegar free, and made completely by us from start to finish.

While I was finishing the first batch, my husband walked in and said, “It smells like a grandma’s kitchen in here,” and honestly that was the biggest compliment because that cozy, fresh country kitchen feeling was exactly what I was going for.

We finally settled on three scents that I absolutely love. Hearth and Herb, Kitchen Garden, and Summer Pantry. They smell so fresh and clean while still having that warm cottage feel. These are safe for almost all surfaces, and we intentionally kept them vinegar free for easier everyday use around the home.

We will have bottles available first, and later this week we’ll also be working on refill options with even more scents coming soon. We are so excited about this new line and truly hope you all love them as much as we do.

Love to see it! The path is a bit of a mess from all the rain all and the pecan trees above (should get a bunch of pecans at end of the year again), but we have cucumbers!!! I'm very picky with what I use for making our famous pickles, (we prefer pickling variety), so that's all that is growing here.

I really am thinking we might have enough at the end of the week to make at least a small batch of pickles. Puckerlicious Dill first, because our dill is coming in beautifully too, and then Bread and Butter next. I know y'all can't wait, just like we can't. Pickle season is almost here!!!

We added a bunch of new Old Fashioned Soda in our fridge this morning, including some of your favorites restocked. Simple ingredients with big taste, country charm, and plenty to browse.

If you’re looking for something to do this rainy weekend, come on down and visit us inside The Sassy Sisters . We have lots of homemade country goodies! Plus, there are so many wonderful vendors in the store, each with something special to offer. Come wander, shop, and see what treasures you can find this weekend!

Thank you all so much for being patient with us lately. My family has been recovering from a nasty little stomach bug the past almost two weeks, but thankfully we are all finally feeling better and now playing catch up around the store and with product restocks. We just dropped off eight dozen fresh eggs yesterday and will be bringing more tomorrow and Sunday as well for anyone needing eggs this week.

We also brought in a ton of new inventory to go along with our homemade dish soap line, restocked our sold out body sprays Siren's Song and Cleopatra, and finally have our fully cured limited edition Ostrich Oil Cold Process Soap available in the store. We are absolutely obsessed with this soap and even have free samples available in front of the display if you want to try it before purchasing.

Over the next couple of weeks we’ll be bringing in even more new inventory as we continue catching up, including hopefully our first batches of pickles for the season. The lack of rain slowed our cucumbers down, but after this rainy weekend we’re hoping they really take off. We hope everyone enjoys their weekend, and if you’re looking for something fun to do indoors, definitely come shop with us inside of The Sassy Sisters and check out all the new goodies we’ve been bringing in lately.

Happy Mother’s Day from Fair Winds Farmstead 💐🐓

We wanted to wish everyone a wonderful and love filled Mother’s Day today. We hope all the moms out there get plenty of love, cuddles, appreciation, and maybe even a little time to relax today because you all deserve it. ❤️

We also have some new moms around the farm to celebrate. Our Barred Rock mama is happily caring for her six sweet babies, and Duchess just hatched out two adorable Royal Palm babies the other day. 🐥🦃

We also have a bunch of our teenagers officially off heat and out on pasture now. In just a couple more weeks, they’ll be joining our main flock full time, which is always exciting to watch.

It’s a beautiful Mother’s Day here on the farm, and we hope it’s a beautiful one for all of you too.

Mother’s Day is just around the corner 🌸

If you’re still looking for a last minute gift, we’ve got you covered! We have a couple of limited edition pre-made gift sets available in our shop space inside of The Sassy Sisters and tomorrow will be the last day before Mother’s Day to grab them. We also have plenty of other beautiful, unique items in the shop that are perfect for showing love and appreciation to that amazing mom in your life.

And speaking of something special… I have a customer I just have to mention (she doesn't have FB so I can share this!). For the past couple of years, her husband has reached out to me to create a truly custom gift set using our products. She loves our items, and we’ve gotten to know her favorites so well that putting her boxes together each year has become something I genuinely enjoy. This year was no different, and I can’t wait for her to receive it. She truly deserves something extra special.

If ever, whether it’s for Mother’s Day or any other occasion, you’re looking for a custom gift set, we would be more than happy to create that for you. You can choose from our pre-made handmade products in the shop, or we can custom make almost all of our bath and body products with your favorite fragrances, butters, and carrier oils. Just reach out to us. We would love to create something truly special for you. 💐

It’s been a busy few weeks here at Fair Winds Farmstead, and we wanted to give you all a little farm update.

This past Sunday we processed our meat chickens, and thanks to all of your support, we are already completely sold out through pre-orders. Unfortunately we do not have any extras available at this time. Our next processing date will be at the beginning of July, and we only have a couple spots left for those. They always go fast, so if you’re interested in reserving whole meat chickens, please make sure to message us soon.

On the gardening side of things, I’ve been busy sowing the rest of our produce and herb garden seeds for the year. We finally got some much needed rain today, which we are incredibly thankful for, so hopefully everything really starts taking off now. Our pickle cucumbers that we planted about a month ago are looking beautiful already and have started producing their first flowers. If all continues going well, I’m hoping to have our first batch of homemade pickles that you all love available in the shop toward the end of this month.

And last but definitely not least… SOAPS. You all have absolutely loved our dish soaps and handcrafted soaps, and we’ve been hard at work getting fully cured batches labeled and ready for the shop this Saturday.

We will have:
• A brand new unscented dish soap (which honestly we should’ve made from the beginning 😅)
• Citrus Dream refills
• Bergamot refills
• Travel/Sample sizes

We also finally have our ostrich oil soaps fully cured and ready to go. If you remember, we made five different scents in this batch, and they are SO good. These should hopefully be added to the shop by Saturday morning just in time for any last minute Mother’s Day gifts.

Thank you all so much for supporting our little farmstead. It truly means the world to our family.

And the first fruit jams of the year made (and so so delicious)! Just fresh fruit, sugar and some lemon juice! I also think it's some kind of record that we collected produce and I made jam the same day. I don't think that's happened since I've had my latest child. 😂

These will be labeled and put in our space inside The Sassy Sisters this Friday!

What our littles help collect today. Well, the littlest was slacking and only eating what we collected. 😂 But we are getting a TON of strawberries from our garden, so we will definitely be making jam soon, as well as strawberry cream homemade popsicles.

There is just something special about working with fresh, local ingredients, and yesterday was one of those days that reminded us why we love what we do.

We finally got to use the fresh goat milk we recently picked up from a local farm, and we are already completely in love. It brought such a rich, creamy feel to our soaps and made the whole process even more rewarding.

We spent the day pouring six batches, including some restocks of your favorites like Butterfly Garden, Stonehenge and Beach Blast. We have the new ones too, Cottage Charm, Porch Nights and English Lavender (for the pure lavender scent lovers). Our space smelled incredible from start to finish, fresh, clean, and just a little bit nostalgic.

It was a full day, but the kind that fills your cup in the best way. We cannot wait to share these with you soon.

We have been a little quiet this week, but for a good reason. Even though we homeschool, we decided to take a spring break and really soak up time together. We spent the week visiting friends, exploring local farms (including Valhalla Farms who are just wonderful people), and enjoying a beautiful day at Chippokes State Park. Of course we still kept busy at home too, working on projects like getting our new galvanized feeder set up and ready to go, and picking our very first strawberries of the season.

We have a lot of strawberry plants, but we also have a house full of strawberry lovers, so they disappear pretty quickly. I will try to set aside enough to make a small batch of jam for the shop, but no promises because fresh berries rarely last long around here. That is the beauty of having so many plants though, we can enjoy fresh strawberries anytime.

I did restock our ceramic dish soap bars this morning and have refills available inside of The Sassy Sisters . There are still several eggs in the fridge, and we will be doing another drop off tomorrow or Wednesday to get it fully stocked again. We also have several soaps that have finally finished curing, including our ostrich oil and tallow soaps, with those heading into the shop next week along with some goat milk soaps and a few new items for Mother’s Day in limited quantities.

We hope you all had a beautiful week and were able to enjoy the weather as much as we did. We will be back to posting more regularly next week. This week was all about family time and being outside as much as possible!
