Contact us @ [email protected] Who is Jandal Sweets? What makes your bakery any different from others? We created Jandal Sweets to share the delicious treats that we grew up with and have gathered along our journey through life. Jandal Sweets is all about family to us! We are 2 sisters, Le-Anne and Danielle (of 6 kids total) who came together to share our family’s love of food and treats wit
h you! With the help of our parent’s we have gathered and researched recipes that are mouth-watering and scrumptious. We hope you will find that good food, shared with good people makes for good times together! What is Jandal? Where did the name come from? Jandal is a name that holds great meaning in our family. The name was created over 20 years ago by our mom, Donna. She took the first letter of each her children’s names (Le-Anne, Joseph, Angela, Alicia, Natalie, and Danielle) and arranged them into the name Jandal. When we looked at opening our own business, the name was obvious to use as a way to represent who we are and what we come from! A perfect homage to our family heritage and traditions that make us who we are! How did you start baking? We have been baking and making goodies since we could stand up to a counter! As small kids, our mom and grandmother would give us small pieces of dough to make our own special “crusts” or “goody”. Baking is part of who we are and our lives together as a family. Baking and cooking is a time of talking, laughing, sharing and togetherness for our family. Enjoying good food, family and friends are at the heart and soul of all we do. What do you have a knack for? We are known for delicious homemade sweet treats that harken back to days of mom’s homemade pies, fresh bread baking in the oven, and scratch made birthday cakes. Not only do our treats taste good, but they are just as beautiful! Wedding cakes, birthday cakes, cupcakes, pies, tarts, cookies, macrons, and fresh bread are just a few things that we make. We pride ourselves on scratch made, (never from box mixes) and the freshest and best ingredients in our treats. Wedding cakes and beautiful cakes are our pride and joy! We strive to help you achieve the cake of your dreams for your special occasion! What are you good at? What’s your specialty? Helping a vision come together into something that fits your vision and budget is our first goal in the design process for wedding and special occasion cakes. We view our job as getting you the best and most beautiful cake to celebrate your day! When creating sweet treats, we strive to make our recipes as fresh and delicious as possible! If you have an allergy, we are completely open to hearing from you and making adjustments to recipes! We have family who are allergic too, so we understand the special accommodations and adjustments that having a food allergy requires! Not a problem! Just let us know! Who have you worked with? What did you do? We just finished a bridal photo shoot that is posted in the blog Borrowed and Blue (see our FB page for the link to check it out)! This wonderful experience allowed us to work with the breathtaking floral creations of Divine Creations Floral Design, professional photographer Shelley Dee Photography, in a beautiful setting at The General's Daughter, with linens and furniture provided by Encore Events, a beautiful wedding dress from Brides 'N Maids, and invitations created by Paperwhite for the special occasion. The bride was beautiful with her hair styled by Hair Artistry by Gabrielle and makeup done by makeup artist Jennifer Sloat. For this wonderful day we created a 2- tiered wedding cake and a dozen mini-cakes decorated with rolled fondant and sugar paste, hand painted flowers. We provided delicious sugar cookies embellished with embossed designs and delicious almond macrons with apricot cream filling in colors to match the wedding design. Lastly, we provided hand-made chocolate truffles that are decorated to resemble a robin’s-egg to be placed at table settings for guests to enjoy. And that’s not all!! We have made beautiful birthday cakes and cupcakes for adults and kids celebrations alike! Some of our favorites can be seen here on our site. Cinderella slipper cupcakes, fresh baked banana bread for special breakfasts, beautiful birthday cakes thoughtfully decorated, and fresh baked coffee cakes and breads to make any dinner a special occasion! What are you most passionate about professionally? We enjoy seeing people enjoy our food and getting what they remember eating as a kid! Having a wedding or celebration cake that TASTES GOOD is just as important as having one that is gorgeous! We are passionate not only about how pretty something looks, but also how good it tastes! Helping people choose the right treat for their occasion is part of making sure we make our customers happy. Using the freshest seasonal ingredients in traditional recipes (and some not so traditional!) helps us to provide the best treats and sweets we can to you! What are you passionate about personally? Each of us sisters shares a passion to bake and make good food! We have grown up with a tradition of eating wonderful food and sharing it with friends and family! We want to pass this tradition onto you and your family and friends! As for special talents that we each have, being together all our lives has led to each of us discovering what our talents and challenges are. We push to have our skill well rounded so that we can all do everything it takes for the best products, but we also know who is best at what! Pssst… here’s the who’s who…. Le-Anne (sister #1)… she’s a design guru, a baker, and candy maker! Sit down with her for a little while and she can design a creative and beautiful design that fits your vision and budget! She makes deliciously rich chocolate truffles and a decadent buttercream! She also is the recipe tester! She once went through testing over 10 cookie recipes just to make sure the customer was getting the best tasting and looking cookie they could! That’s dedication! Her superpower is reading minds!! She helps you figure out what you really like and want! Danielle (sister #5)…. She’s the reason we all came to this point! Danielle (or Dani as we affectionately call her) is currently working on her culinary training with a focus on baked goods. She is a wonderful decorator and does amazing things with fondant and buttercream! Dani is never afraid to take on projects that she has not done and complete them to perfection. Her fresh and unique view of the culinary world helps us to blend old-world traditions with modern and fresh aspects of food! Dani’s super power is the awesome ability to fly! Yep, she’s got the amazing gift of flying through frosting and fondant decorating with skill and grace! Where did you grow up? All of us were raised in beautiful Petaluma, right here in Sonoma County! We love the unique blend of people, flavors, and cultures that make up our wonderful Sonoma county style! We have lived in many different places around the country, but the road has always brought us right back here to our beloved Wine Country!
