I’m here at the market thinking about how amazing this place is. I’m grateful for the home it’s become for my growing small business. These people have quickly become family. The vendors, the customers, and the staff are all a delight to work alongside.

It’s truly a community here and I think it’s a reflection of the integrity of each of the fellow businesses and farms.

I especially want to give credit to our market director Shawn. He’s not seen often by the customers, but all of us who work with him know the tirelessness and enthusiasm he brings to his job. He always does things with excellence and it shows in the events he plans and organizes so well. Last night’s Spooktacular was a prime example of the well-oiled machine he runs here.

I know I’m new to this world and others probably have even more great things to say. I just wanted to take a moment to show you a little “market moment.” We had a very windy, cold morning and found some sunlight together around warm coffees from our market coffee shop while we watched our tents with trepidation during the wind gusts and helped each other pick up windswept signage 🌬️

These pumpkins are from our friends at Farm 19. They’re so pretty 😍 🎃 🍂

I’ll get some better shots tomorrow in better lighting, but I just wanted to give a shoutout to Farm 19 for these beautiful pumpkins.

They’re a new local pumpkin farm right in Putnam county. Kathleen is a wonderful farmer and this is her first harvest season.

Had so much fun treating the community with “not candy” today at our little tea witch apothecary trunk at the South Charleston Farmers Market Spooktakular Trunk or Treat amd Candy Drop.

The kids were SO excited and we loved seeing all the costumes and families.

Why loose leaf tea?

Loose leaf is a rolled leaf. Tea bags contain “dust and fannings”

A leaf that is allowed to steep and bloom gives a more complex flavor than the dust contained in tea bags.
