Today is Pregnancy an Infant Loss Awareness Day 🕯️

I am lighting this candle in honor of a beautiful baby boy that was born today, Noah.

I personally have never experienced a loss of a baby of my own, but I have the privilege to walk with families who have. I’ve held their hands, I’ve listened to their stories, I’ve cried with them, and have witnessed their love. 🤍

My biggest take away is to say their name. Talk about them and allow for the families to talk to you about them. Listen to them and love them. Don’t allow for the loss to be uncomfortable to talk about it.

Their babies existed. They were loved. They mattered. And they always will.

Today, my heart is especially heavy as I honor sweet Noah and the family who will carry his memory with them forever. 🤍

Noah, you are loved. You are remembered. And your name will be spoken.

Say their names. Remember their babies. Never be afraid to speak of the love that will always remain.

As a mother, I know how easy it is for a heartbreaking case to become yesterday’s news once the courtroom doors close and the headlines move on, but the conversations it brings up should never disappear with it. Maternal mental health is something I wish we could talk about without mothers feeling ashamed, judged, or afraid to admit when they are struggling. There are so many women carrying exhaustion, anxiety, isolation, intrusive thoughts, and emotions they don’t know how to explain, often while still trying to smile and take care of everyone around them. I hope we keep listening, keep checking on new mothers, and keep making it safer for moms to say they need help, because behind every statistic is a mother who deserves compassion and support before she reaches a breaking point. 🖤

🚨Things most people don’t get to say🚨Placenta processing is always fun in our home!! 🤣 My babies usually gather around to watch the process and ask so many great questions. ☺️ Last night during processing, we found a very cool finding!! An extra lobe between the amnion and chorion. 😱 Fun little learning opportunity for us AND we get to showcase how amazing our bodies are and how hard we work to keep our babies alive and healthy.
