Two dozen eggs just went out to the fridge ! The fridge has seen a lot of action this weekend - thanks to everyone who has been buying eggs 😊

Finally took the annual spring trip to Longfellows Greenhouse - grabbed hanging baskets, coneflowers, black eyed Susan’s, bleeding hearts, peonies, and some veggies. A lot of the plants are for around my coop, which of course the chickens promptly tried to rip out of the ground.

This weekend, I’ve been sewing some super fun projects that I can’t wait to post and also introduced the 6 week olds from Dang Good Eggs to the coop. The introduction went extremely well 🥹

I was going to go to the swap today and bring my sewed stuff but it was cold and rainy. I did some quality control instead!

My job was to check that all the eggs fit in the aprons and Paul made sure all the book / kindle sleeves could withstand a tornado 😂

I was a bit late putting out eggs but two dozen from yesterday are out now 🤗

I was late because I picked up a dozen hatching eggs from Penobscot Poultry this morning! Last hatch of the year for me because I prefer spring chickies. Before anyone panics, Salena Gilman and I have joint custody.

I just got back from a weekend trip to Texas - very happy to be back home ! Paul collected eggs on the first day I was away then …. encountered two broody hens. Due to successful intimidation tactics, two hens sat on all these eggs this weekend. I will start collecting fresh eggs again for the egg stand tomorrow 👏!

On a side note - I wanted to see if anyone was interested in buying a dozen fertilized eggs for cheap since all these eggs were under two hens for 3 days. Eggs are heavy on the “backyard mix” scale + a chance of naked neck. I have standard eggs and bantam eggs.
