Look up TONIGHT! 🌕️ The Full Sturgeon Moon of August 2026 will peak in the early hours of Friday, August 28, marking the last Full Moon of summer.

The Full Moon of August is traditionally called the “Sturgeon Moon.” At one time, the lake sturgeon of the Great Lakes were quite abundant in late summer, though they are rarer today.

Traditionally, each Full Moon name was applied to the entire lunar month in which it occurred, not solely to the Full Moon.

🍄❄️ Old Weather Saying:
“Mushrooms galore, much snow in store.”

For generations, people looked to signs in nature for clues about the winter ahead — and an abundance of mushrooms was sometimes believed to signal a snowy season to come.

Have you been seeing more mushrooms than usual where you live this year? And do you believe there’s any truth to this old bit of weather folklore?
