Wendler Acres is a fifth generation farm operation located in Central Wisconsin founded in 1893. Originally a dairy farm turned beef farm, Clarence Wendler bought the first Polled Herefords in 1970 where he started with a herd of twelve. With his commercial cow herd growing, Clarence sold the farm to his son Chuck in 1990. He now operates the farm with his son Zach, where they raise registered Polled Herefords as well as a commercial cow herd.

Ground beef has been consistently selling out as soon as we get it in. We won’t be restocking until mid summer and that already has a reservation list formed.

Also to note, all spring and summer slots for beef shares are FULL! Currently taking reservations for fall.

While we are so incredibly grateful for the demand, we hate telling customers we are sold/reserved out. If you’ve been thinking of a restock, please don’t wait to message us. This allows us to plan more effectively based on demand.

This one gets high praise around here… even by the toddlers. The ease of setting the crockpot and walking away is perfect for busy nights. Use any cut of beef roast and you’ve found your new favorite BBQ.

As we wrap up the year, we’re taking a moment to look back at what direct-to-consumer beef looked like for us in 2025:

• 54 beef shares went to local families
• 36 returning customers trusted us again
• 13 new customers welcomed
• 500+ lbs of ground beef from our freezer to yours

These numbers mean a lot to us. Every order supports our farm and allows us to keep doing what we love… raising quality beef and selling it directly to families who care where their food comes from.

Thank you to everyone who supported Wendler Acres this year. We truly appreciate every order, message, and recommendation. We’re excited to continue raising quality beef and serving our community in 2026.
