One farm. Three wild kids. A whole lot of cattle. 🌾🤎
And somehow, we’ve never actually introduced ourselves.
While this page isn’t new, there are a lot of new faces here. From new customers interested in beef shares, to fellow farmers looking for breeding stock, to distant relatives just reaching out to place us somewhere in their own family tree. So, we thought we’d answer some of the questions that have come our way.

We’re Zach & Cassie Wendler... high school sweethearts that will be celebrating a decade of marriage this fall. In 2023, we purchased the family farm and shortly after became the owners of Wendler Acres, LLC. While we joke that this is all just a hobby, we know very well we have outgrown that term and it’s a lifestyle.
Since 1893, our family has farmed this same homestead in Wittenberg, Wisconsin. With each passing generation, the family farm has evolved over time. These barns have seen cows milked, dairy calves raised, and a beef herd grow.
Today, we primarily raise our beef cattle to provide beef shares for local families. And on the rare occasion you can get Zach to part with his livestock, we also offer breeding stock.
If you’ve ever reached out to chat about our livestock, you’re talking with Zach… the fifth generation raised here. He’s a breeding AI technician with over 15 years in the field. If he’s not walking the barns of local dairy and beef herds, you’ll find him caring for our farm. And while that may seem like a lot of cows to work with on a daily basis, Zach wouldn’t have it any other way. He has a love for cattle. A true passion that many don’t understand.
If you’ve messaged us about beef shares, Cassie is your girl. A hygienist turned stay-at-home mom. While most of her time is spent raising their own herd of kids, you’ll occasionally find her dusting off her dental hygiene skills. While she wasn’t raised on a farm, she quickly learned that to love Zach is to love the farm life.
Speaking of kids, we’re raising the sixth generation here. We have three young kids… ages 6, 4, and 2. We know what you’re thinking, and yes, it’s pure chaos over here. But it’s our chaos, and we thrive on it. Plus, the kids don’t mind running a little feral, and the unlimited gator rides are a nice farm kid perk.
So here we are, raising cattle and kids on the same land that was cleared more than 130 years ago.
