Hochstetler's Haven Family, 4-H farm which raises quality turkeys, chickens, ducks, and Nigerian Dwarf Goats. We sell live animals, Fresh frozen turkey-duck-chicken, and eggs.

May God be glorified in all we do! This is what happens when you've enjoyed 4-H and grown up. Our family farm raises a wide variety:
Chickens: purebred Black Jersey Giants, Delaware, Bearded and non-bearded white Silkie
Ducks: Buff, and Pekin Ducks
Turkeys: Narragansett
We do offer for sale: fertilized eggs, young and mature breeding stock. Contact us for availability. Hochstetler's Haven is a

member of the National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP). Our NPIP status is Pullorum Typhoid clean. We are also a breeder Nigerian Dwarf Goats and show quality New Zealand White Rabbits

Cleaning & inspecting eggs; many times daily here on Noble Street in Wolf Lake. Have an eggcellent day and weekend!

While washing, we look for cracks and non-conformities. When candling (inspecting), we look for cracks, hairline fractures, any tiny air bubbles, size of the air sack, condition of the yolk (periodically, we crack open an egg to check the height and condition of the yolk as well as the diameter of the albumen). Quality is our goal!

We also do all of this for our duck eggs!

"Our family farm, Hochstetler's Haven, is the result of 4-H and our love for animals, paired with our desire to take it to the next level.

Among a number of conservancy poultry breeds we breed and compete with are Buffs. For us, the Buffs seem to have more personality than other duck breeds we have raised; we also very much like their deep, rich color.

We have learned that a secret to motivating ourselves to invest the time into our animals is to have a smile come to our faces when we see our animals; if you don't enjoy your animals, you won't want to invest the effort to go the extra mile for them.

In the case of the Buffs, it is taking the time to be highly selective as to which drakes to breed with which hens, that will keep the offspring most closely representing the true heritage style and type of this often overlooked breed." - The Hochstetlers, Hochstetler's Haven.
