Cottage Lake Quail We breed our quail for eggs & enjoyment and offer hatching eggs and live birds locally.

We are located in Woodinville, WA and started out with hens a few years ago (lovingly called the "Mothercluckers") and have now expanded to Coturnix Quail as well.

You guys.... I'm so excited! We might have a broody Rosetta hen here at !

I was collecting eggs on Tuesday and saw a hen in the dust bath scooting eggs underneath herself. It's so rare for these birds that I left them there for her and here she is today still on them!! I'm not going to get my hopes up, but I will keep you posted should she keep this up!!

Got the incubators cleaned and ready to fill up tomorrow. I've been gathering a few eggs from this couple specifically.....

Got the incubators cleaned and ready to fill up tomorrow. I've been gathering a few eggs from this couple specifically... this is Sugar Pie and Mr. Belvedere. Sugar Pie is a gorgeous Italian Tuxedo hen and my most tame, sweet hen as well. Hoping for some beautiful babies with friendly temperments!

We got a from the Quail!

A "fairy egg" (or wind egg) is a miniature, yolkless egg. It occurs when a hen's reproductive system accidentally skips releasing a yolk but still forms the egg white and shell. They are harmless and usually occur when young hens first start laying or when older hens' egg cycles are disrupted by stress or moulting.

This is only the 2nd fairy egg from our quail and it is by far the smallest! Here it is next to a "standard" egg and also next to something closer to its own size... a peanut M&M ... 😳😆

Good progress on my new Quail enclosure! I'm making "Honeymoon Suites" for my breeders so I can work on my breeding program! Two levels with three cubbies on each with lots of ventilation! Just need to finish the dividers on the bottom, boarding up the back and add the doors & latches!!

I love hearing from my new Quail friends (aka customers)!

Got these adorable pics from a gentleman that purchased some hatching eggs from me a few weeks ago. He's got some happy, healthy chicks to get started with now!! Congrats on a successful hatch!
