Got some spring cleaning done in the chicken coop this weekend and the isolation area is all set up to bring the basement chicks outside!

Old and new chickens will stay separated by the fence for about a week or so while they get used to each other before combining everyone into one happy group.

Late April/May must be Lucy’s time to go broody. Last year I let her sit on eggs and she hatched 4 healthy chicks and was an excellent momma hen.

So this years question is… do I let her hatch chicks this year????
