The kids are old enough for the kiddy showmanship contest at the Wayne Co Fair this year. They picked out their heifers today. I’m sure based on their names you will never be able to guess who is taking who 😁 You have to admire the thought process of a 5 year old.

Ellie, our adopted heifer at the farm, calved yesterday. Unfortunately it was a beef bull. Otherwise it would have made a nice March calf for the kids. Both are healthy so we really can’t complain.

Such a beautiful day! We can’t all help but enjoy it. Dan however gets very discouraged when the weather is this nice in February. He sees the cold weather tomorrow and knows the sudden weather change is hard on the calves. So today the curtains and doors are all open but tomorrow the barn will be closed up and extra bedding put down in hope no one gets sick in the next couple of days.
