Mama Tree Farm, Vermont

Mama Tree Farm, Vermont Mama Tree Farm is dedicated to the wellbeing of people and planet. This page is dedicated to all sentient beings.

We make gluten-free, ancient plant baking mixes, grow cut flowers, and will be growing mood-elevating, non-cannabis herbs using organic, climate-friendly farming practices. The Cojujo Project is the creation of art and design arising from personal embodied experience, modern peer reviewed science, and wisdom outside of Western European contemporary culture, to inspire and support positive reconne

ctions—between humans, humans and their bodies, humans and the planet's beings and abiotic—and well-being for all. Living real is engaging in full sensory living in collaboration with nature and fellow humans. It is face to face connections, real, nutrient rich food, outdoor experiences, live music, theater, and dance, creative expression and art you could touch if the guard would let you. And yes, when you're done reading or posting, turn off your device, experience some full-sensory living, and report back!

As a designer in all parts of my life, I like to experiment. I rarely stay with one style or formula. In design school, I was taught to constantly deconstruct. Try ideas and throw them out. Always imagine possibilities. With flowers, I am just beginning to have the confidence and knowledge of each flower to experiment more courageously. I am in my fourth season of flower farming and yet feel I am just beginning the design journey. So much more to come. Huge thanks to Geo Low who experiments with me, playing with flowers and exhausting ourselves in the rush of creative exploration with this ephemeral medium.

What makes a great bouquet?
So many answers. Here’s one:
Begin with the soil to create vibrant, healthy blooms.
And buy local fresh flowers.
Also ask your farmer, are these blooms refrigerated? If so, for how long?
The longer the refrigeration, the shorter the vase life.

These beauties. May I spend more time with them in the coming years. Playing. Delighting. Experimenting. No recipes except that of the day and all its surprises.

I believe there is an extraordinary energy from freshly cut local flowers, harvested with care the day before with clean tools and buckets, stems gently stripped of lower leaves, hydrated well, never stored for long, never flown or shipped or trucked thousands of miles. These, my flowers, offer such vitality to anyone in their presence.

We run businesses. Own houses. Work our asses off. Pay the bills. Fix our machines. Feed our dogs. Love our kids. Support our friends. Fold laundry. Lift weights and climb mountains. Choose honesty and kindness.
No need to sacrifice our spirits, our life force, for anyone. Reciprocity is what I’m looking for.

(Movie making secret: The truth is…a snake shed its skin while I was making bouquets. So I took the opportunity to make a cute dog video and put the lisi’s next to the snake skin. Fannie has no interest in flowers. Most movie dogs don’t. )

Movement. Form. Color. Texture.
All from tiny seeds.
Grown in rich, composted, no till soil.
Nurture the soil. Giive to all the soil organisms and your little seeds.
Experience the fabulousness
Reciprocity.

What a gift I get to work with these beauties.
