Last weekend I had the pleasure of making my mom's friends 80th birthday cake. She told me she's never had a cake made specially for her... sadly I hear that a lot.
The next cake was for a woman turning 29 and the whole sword thing was giving me all the vibes. I loved it and so did her guests.

Happy 80th Birthday to Ms. Nancy. What I know about her is, if there's music playing she's definitely swaying. This 8×16" cake was half vanilla with a strawberry puree and half lemon cake filled with lemon cream cheese and fresh blueberries.

Am I the only one who tried something new that just didn't work out? I should have tried out for the show "Nailed It". It wasn't just the bumblebees but the flavor of this chocolate sugar cookie just didn't do it for me. A double fail, but I'm sure I'll give it another try...maybe ;)
