🫣Why Nigerian Dwarfs when the market is heavily flooded with them?🫣

Great question...😅 at the time I had no idea why ND. I had chose to get rid of my 400 plus pound hogs and wanted goats. At the time I didnt care breed, I just wanted goats. My husband and I had walked into TSC and right inside the door was a little wether donated to raise money for 4-H by Scout's Wood's.

My husband had contacted them and went back and forth for a few days before we sealed the deal and brought home 2 unregistered and pregnant does, they happened to be Nigerian Dwarfs. I was new to goats and the last thing I wanted was them pregnant 😅

Wellllll they freshened with ease and those kids were the absolute cutest 😍 and that is when I learned about goataplacation 😬 I had originally said I didnt want more than 6...well guess what I definitely have more than 6 and they just keep appearing 🤣 only now I have a small herd of unregistered and a rapidly growing performance herd of registered.

I love milking them even though most days I have to fight to do so 🙄 I just love my goats. Theyre adorable, fun, and multipurpose. I love them, the husband loves them, and so do the kids.

Next year our dairy goats will start competing and I'm looking forward to that.

Why 🐇 Polish rabbits 🐇?

Polish rabbits were the 1st rabbits to hit the homestead. Gage had been in 4-H for a couple years and I wanted Tobin and Karsen in as well so they could learn the responsibility too BUT they were only old enough to be cloverbuds 🍀

Cloverbuds however cant do anything sale wise or compete so they're limited to rabbits and cavies (guinea pigs). We had a few rabbits breeds that we went back and forth on, but ultimately chose polish.

We chose Polish because they stay small between 2.5-3.5 pounds when full grown, theyre really docile, & are not a high maintenance breed making them perfect for the littles to handle.

We currently have 6 of them (4 more on the way to bring some color into the group 🫣), all to ARBA Standards and all of our Polish are either Best of Show or Champions. Our buns have all been Ace in the Hole Rabbitry

We definitely take pride in our Polish buns 😍
