Has anyone dealt with wry neck in an older chick?
We’ve seen it in fresh hatchlings on the farm, but I have a chickie in a new home I’m DESEPRATE to save for the littles in the sweet family and unable to get hands-on until tomorrow.
INFO- Chick is a Salmon Favorelle pullet, 2 weeks old, no presenting neurological signs in her hatch batch. Has been in her new home for slightly more than 72 hours. Rapid decline, weak neck, and stargazing in the last 12 ish hours. I’ve asked all environmental questions to check bedding and food for toxins. I can’t find causation other than possibly a genetic issue in hiding, which is honestly terrifying in my position and theirs.
Are there any immediate remedies other than Vitamin E? The goal is to keep chickie comfortable until tomorrow afternoon when I can travel to treat and swap.
PLEASE advise with experience, as this is unfamiliar territory and I’m dedicated to making things right!
