First attempt at Whisky River BBQ in Etters.
We were the only ones in the place, which isn’t a great sign. That said, we were seated right away and asked for drinks within a minute—so far, so good.
I ordered the chili and a few wings to start. After that, our server disappeared a bit longer than expected before coming back to take our main order. She didn’t write anything down, which I’ll give credit for—most people don’t do that anymore.
For the entrée, I went with a half rack of ribs, mac and cheese, and baked beans.
The chili was packed with goodies, and the cheese and onions made it even better, as always. The five garlic-parm wings were solid. The ribs had a great smoky flavor but unfortunately weren’t fall-off-the-bone and were a little tough. The mac and cheese was my favorite item on the plate, and the skillet baked beans had a nice touch of spice. Cornbread was great as well.
Overall, if I had to rate it on a 1-to-5 star scale (with 5 being the best), I’d give it a 2.5. Everyone’s taste buds are different.
